Great time in the Summer

Wow! That's my first reaction when asked about the Haines Reunion. So many people traveled so far to be there, and all the kids got along very well, even though many had never met each other. I want to give a special thanks to Debbie and Kim Sherwood and their kids; Shawna, Rachelle, Aaron,Claryce, Shurell and their spouses for all the cooking, crafts and water sports that they provided. The whole family worked hard to make this a great time. It was so nice to see the whole Haines group pitching in to help with cooking, cleaning and kid care.

I had such a great time visiting with long-lost family members, and made wonderful new friends. The auction was great fun, and thanks to everyone that brought things to donate. There was such a wonderful spirit of love and cooperation throughout the weekend, it's hard to put it into words. This is what makes family have meaning, the idea that we are all connected by blood and spirit.

Thanks everyone for coming!

July 31 & Aug 1st Reunion, Lyman Lake, Az.

What a wonderful reunion we had this weekend!!! It was so exciting to be re-acquainted with our "Texas" relatives!! What a joy they were, and the kids had soooo much fun playing together. It was amazing that the kids all got along so well and had so much fun.

We shared so many insights into each others families, that I truly feel I know so much more about our family history now.

We were blessed to have at least one family from each of George and Mae's children.

A special treat was enjoyed by all when Tom and Pam Nelson showed up with A LOT of family history from Grandpa Haines' siblings. He shared many family history ideas and family stories with us. And brought precious heirlooms for the auction.

We really missed Hap and his family, he was the only sibling of ours not able to come. We know they had planned to attend and were really looking forward to it, but at the last minute were unable to attend.

We also really missed Marvin Jr. and Tina, who had initially planned to attend, but due to our schedule having to change, was not able to, but was so happy to have Kathy be able to come.

Each of the rest of you who could not attend were deeply missed also, we thought about you often throughout the weekend.

Elaine did a FANTASTIC job putting a family history book together for us. The hours she spent on this is amazing. It is so clear and has so many pictures, truly easy to read and very enjoyable to thumb through. What a great tool to help our Grandchildren learn about their ancestors.

I have given permission to everyone I have emails for to post to this blog. Please post your feelings about the reunion, George and Mae, etc. and feel free to post any and all pictures you would like to.

Thanks so much for making this the BEST reunion ever!!
